I want to offer you this beautiful Royal Copenhagen Flora Danica luncheon plate entitled. America Siberica Furci, painted with 4 lilac botanical flowers. It was made in 1966. It is 8.75 inches in diameter. Flora Danica is the most exquisite of all the porcelain made by the Royal Copenhagen Manufactory. Each Flora Danica plate has a hand-painted central painting of a botanical flower. Each border of every plate has an extensive intricate gilded serrated border unlike any other plate I have ever seen. Inside the border are paintings showing the flower’s early buds as they are growing. In 1790 the King of Denmark ordered the Royal Danish Porcelain Manufactory to make Flora Danica to be the most impressive porcelain in the world. The botanical flowers were taken from reference books that referenced all the flowers and flora in Denmark earlier that century.
