Elegant Findings Antiques has been specializing in Meissen Porcelain for over thirty years. Our love for Meissen porcelain comes from its beauty of the painting on the porcelain, its quality and that it seems to last forever. If you look at a hundred year old piece of Meissen porcelain, it looks brand new!  The Meissen company glazed their antique porcelain at a very high temperature with an excellent glaze. Therefore, Meissen porcelain does not show its age by grazing and scratches like many of the English porcelains do. The only way you can ruin the Meissen china piece is to use an abrasive like a steel wool pad on the gold. This will remove the gold, which is actually real gold.

Meissen artists free hand painted their flowers and scenes on the Meissen. The detail of the flowers is incredible. You can see the veins in the leaves, the beautiful petals and all the detail in the center of the flowers. The scenes on the Meissen porcelain are also works of art. They do a beautiful job of painting birds, fruits, seascapes and scenes of lovers. The detail work has museum quality painting.
